Mama Mia

Now is the time to get a Mother's Day card made for your Mom, Mother-in-law, Stepmom, Grandma, Great Grandma and if you are like me with none of the above you make a card for another important woman in your life, and this is what I made for the challenge at Shopping Our Stash.

My special person is my Daughter, she loves the colour purple (all shades)  She is just a text or call away if I need help.
The 3D butterfly folder is a newer purchase as is the three layer butterfly but never been used until now but the Lavender Lace cardstock and ink pad are ages old. I even had a re-inker for the ink pad. The light purple part of the butterfly was a scrap of thin shiny paper I found in my scrap file box. The technique I used for the folder is ink up the debossed side of the folder add the same colour cardstock as ink so it darkens the recessed areas. It also looks great done on white cardstock.  I found this video quite helpful.

Here is a closer look at the butterfly and the sentiment The sentiment is a NBUS I'm sure it's over a year old and I just got it out to use. I layered it on an extremely ancient slightly damaged 12 X 12 piece of vellum that I have no idea where it came from it was just loose between the cardstock.

Finished the inside with a couple of scraps of cardstock and a butterfly stamp. It is ready for a hand written note to tell my daughter how important to me she is.

I am adding this to:

Inspired by Christmas Cookies Part 2!!

I did manage to get the second idea  finished today and I'm sliding in with 2 hours to the deadline of 6 p.m. EDT. First I will remind you of the inspiration photo.

So many ideas so little time. I could have made more in fact one more on my desk in pieces but I know I won't have it for the challenge but maybe it will fit one of the upcoming Christmas challenges.

It is not often you see such a CAS card from me although three layers, 6 sequins and the die was cut twice from heavy white cardstock and once from a patterned brushed metallic cardstock, who knows how long I have had that 12 X 12 paper pad. This is another mini slimline card, you will be seeing lots of these as I have a couple of friends that have asked me for some for money giving at Christmas.

Inside of the card using a favourite Hero Arts sentiment some of the same patterned paper and a strip of the metallic green cardstock.

Inspired by Christmas Cookies.

Hello friends, family and followers this is the first time I have never been overwhelmed  with an inspiration prompt, I zoned in on not only one but three cookies I was inspired by trouble is I only have one done so far. Second idea is in the works. First I will show you the inspirational picture  from the   Jingle Belles challenge blog

So many cute cookies and so much inspiration I zoomed in on the Santa cookie I had the perfect Stampendous mini stamp to use and since I have some orders for mini slimline Christmas cards to use as money holders you will be seeing lots of this size card.

I used one of my favourite mini slimline designs from Crafty Al's Sheetload of Cards tutorial #JAN2023 it works perfectly for any of the stampendous mini clear stamps I have.

Okay I need to not try to get a close up of my images, they seem to come out a bit fuzzy so again it is NOT your eyesight failing you. It could be the camera too I just realized I bought it for a trip to Florida in 2010.

Another favourite stamp to use for my vertical mini slimline cards. I finished the inside with a bit of leftover patterned paper.

I am adding this to.

Shower Me with Sunshine!!

You might have guessed already but at Shopping Our Stash we want to see projects pertaining to a Baby Shower or a Bridal Shower being April I'm sure there are lots of June brides hoping their maid of honour is going to throw them a shower, well it doesn't matter what time of year there is someone expecting a little one. In this day and age there is rarely a generic shower as most expectant parents want to know whether it is a boy or girl.  With that being said I chose Baby Shower.

I went with a very simple card so the train shines. I have had this die used it once for a shower card for my great grandson who will be 7 years old this year. I cut it 3 times from white cardstock, coloured the animals with markers and layered them for stability then cut the train from blue cardstock and trimmed off the animals and added it as the top layer, the enamel hearts are from the Eyelet Outlet also from the 2017 era. Sentiments were computer generated. Nothing on my card is younger than 2 years old.

Close up of the train.

Closer look at the rest of the train.

I am entering this in a new to me challenge:

Thanks checking my blog today and don't forget to check out the MAiN BLOG to see what the rest of the design team have made, then shop your stash and add a baby or bridal shower project to our gallery.

Just Fold It!!!

Welcome to another new monthly challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers and here is Edna to introduce the new theme.

Edna has been very busy folding newsprint into a Hat or is that a Boat on her head, do you remember making these paper creations as a child? Well we don't want a newsprint hat/boat we want to see some Fun or Fancy folds. I love making different folds I find them easy and fun so here is what fold I did.

It's a Circle Easel card and I finally had chance to use the House Mouse stamp and I found this fruit designed patterned paper at Dollarama and matched perfect the sentiment I found on Pinterest, used more circle dies and popped it up to hold the top portion of the card.

Close up of the sentiment, it's a bit out of focus so your eyesight hasn't gone downhill.  Since I used my favourite "meeces" I toned the snark.

Side view so show ow the easel part works.

Best part it folds flat for mailing as long as you don't pop things up too high and it fits in a square envelope.

Fractured Mini Slimline Cards.....

Hello again, yes these Fractured cards are really addictive and I tried the technique on a mini slimline card. I love the mini slimline cards for putting a bit of "folding money" in it fits perfect with no folding an end over. While searching for something in my stash of "stuff" a long diamond die set popped up, never even been taken apart, so you know it's a NBUS. When I saw it I immediately thought I could make a fractured mini slimline card using it instead of a square, it did take some extra time to cut the 1/4 inch strip ends so the next one fit perfect. I did use just a single piece of patterned paper as it was my first try, next I will try one with different pieces of paper.

Of course I needed to use my house mouse Easter stamps, I coloured and fussy cut (what a nightmare) and popped them up of the diamond shape. Both patterned paper was from 2 different paper pads from Bo Bunny.

This one has Maxwell Mouse holding his supply of Easter Eggs. Beside the card is the set of Diamond dies now detached from each other but I need to get them in a CD case with a magnetic pad.

I think this is Monica Mouse having a nap after eating all the  filling from the Easter Creme Egg.

What Was On My Desk!!

Here we go....there are always many many things on my desk and I have a corner computer desk with shelves, no I won't show you it but the only clear space is the small spot for my helper (see the sidebar) but I will show what I started with.

leftover paper, leftover cardstock and a layered snowflake leftover from December crafting. Now here is what I made with my bits.

The snowflake was perfect for the new rage of Fractured cards, they are fun and addicting and sure use up a lot of scraps. I popped up the snowflake and added a rhinestone to the center.

Here is the finished inside with a favourite sentiment and a couple of scraps of paper. I would have had my card finished a couple of days ago but I couldn't seem to locate the sentiment and why was it in the box of Birthday wood stamps? Then I was a bit late in getting my son's birthday card done. There does come a time when you run out of themes for family birthday cards.

Now since I planned this card for Rudolph days and I used so many "snippits" I'm adding this to:

I would like to wish you Happy Easter and thanks for spending some time here today.
